Lula Campaign Seeks Supreme Federal Court, Electoral Court Action Over Possible US Interference in Election - Folha de S.Paulo

President Lula’s campaign has asked the STF (Supreme Federal Court) for urgent measures to investigate possible US interference in Brazil’s electoral process.

The Workers’ Party, Lula’s party, filed a case with the Superior Electoral Court against Flávio Bolsonaro and Eduardo Bolsonaro, both members of the PL, accusing them of abuse of political and economic power and of the media through alleged coordination with the Trump administration.

The filing cites White House measures, including tariffs, the revocation of Supreme Court justices’ visas and the Magnitsky Act against Alexandre de Moraes, a justice on the court, and links them to Eduardo’s efforts to intimidate the judiciary and to false information about voting machines spread by Flávio.

According to the petition, the measures as a whole create institutional and electoral instability. It seeks to bar the brothers from running for office and to revoke the candidacies of Flávio, Lula’s main rival in the presidential race, and his running mate, Alfredo Gaspar.
