LIBRENG SAKAY: Free rides offered to NCR commuters amid transport strike - GMA Network
Several local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region deployed vehicles offering free rides to assist commuters affected by the transport strike on Monday.
According to a report on GMA News' Unang Balita, free rides were already stationed at the Incident Command Post at Kartilya ng Katipunan in Ermita, Manila as of 6 a.m.
Malabon also began its free ride service at 5 a.m.
The LGU said vehicles would be deployed to areas needing additional transportation under the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's dispatching system.
Some transport groups in Malabon also continued operating despite the strike.
Among those not participating in Malabon were the Majesto, Toda, and Poda federations, according to the city government.
The Quezon City LGU said its QCity buses remain available for commuters. Its Traffic and Transport Management Department personnel are monitoring traffic in areas that may have been affected by the transport strike.

Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said it has deployed vehicles to provide free rides on Monday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the following routes and vice versa:

The transport group Samahang Manibela, Mananakay at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportasyon (Manibela) on Monday started its three-day transport strike as a fare hike took effect.
