Legendary SA musician Babsy Mlangeni dies at 83 - EWN

Legendary South African musician Babsy Mlangeni has died at the age of 83, following a short illness.

For more than five decades, Mlangeni’s distinctive voice and timeless hits such as Sala Emma, Bua Nnete and Botsotso became part of the soundtrack of South African life.

Born blind, the Soweto-born singer, guitarist and composer broke barriers in the music industry, inspiring generations of musicians and proving that living with a disability is no barrier to greatness.
