Lamar Jackson injury update as Ravens QB hurts ankle vs Titans - USA Today
Another star quarterback has gone down with an injury.
In a season full of injuries to signal-callers, the Baltimore Ravens lost Lamar Jackson to an ankle injury in Week 4. The team announced that he has been ruled questionable to return.
It is unclear exactly when Jackson got hurt, but it's likely he sustained the ailment when he took a sack on one of the final plays of the first half against the Tennessee Titans. The two-time MVP went back to Baltimore's locker room early and was not on the field for Ravens kicker Tyler Loop's half-ending, 64-yard field goal, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Cameras showed Jackson watching the start of the third quarter from the Ravens' sideline. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley played the remainder of the game for Baltimore's offense.
The two-time MVP never returned to the game. Baltimore maintained the lead and defeated Tennessee 24-18.
Head coach Jesse Minter told reporters that the team played "a little conservative in the second half with the lead and the weather."
βLittle bit of an ankle. Donβt know enough about it right now, weβll have to see where thatβs at," Minter said. "Hopefully itβs in a good spot.β
Jackson doesn't appear to have a long-term injury, but his practice status leading up to the Ravens' Week 5 game on "Sunday Night Football" against the Atlanta Falcons will be worth monitoring.
The Ravens announced that Jackson was questionable to return with an ankle injury. Baltimore's starting quarterback was spotted on the Ravens' sideline without his helmet to begin the second half.
Prior to exiting the game, Jackson was having an excellent outing against Tennessee. The veteran quarterback was 15-of-20 passing for 222 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two rushes for 20 total rushing yards.
