KSRTC bus catches fire at Pattambi in Keralam

A KSRTC bus caught fire while travelling through Pattambi in Keralam on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred in front of the Pattambi market around 5 a.m.

The bus was travelling from Perinthalmanna to Kottayam when the driver noticed smoke coming from the engine. He immediately stopped the bus, and a fire broke out soon after.

Passengers quickly got off the bus with the help of people from the nearby market. No one was injured in the incident.

Fire and Rescue Services personnel reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The bus was partially damaged in the incident.

The passengers were later taken to their destination in another bus. Traffic in the area was disrupted for more than an hour.

An electrical short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.

KSRTC officials said an investigation was underway to determine the exact cause.
