Khidmat Markaz plan due in 10 days

Pakistan's largest public service centre will be established in Karachi, bringing a range of federal interior ministry services under one roof, the Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday. The proposed Grand Khidmat Markaz will house counters for various departments and institutions working under the Ministry of Interior, allowing citizens to access services including passports, computerised national identity cards (CNICs), arms licences and different no-objection certificates (NOCs) at a single location. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the plan during his visit to the ministry's office on II Chundrigar Road, where he reviewed arrangements for establishing the centre. Naqvi directed officials to prepare a master plan for the facility within 10 days, with instructions to incorporate all necessary requirements and ensure that every step needed for its establishment was completed. The ministry said the initiative was aimed at providing multiple citizen services through a single-window facility, reducing the need for people to visit separate offices for different requirements.
