Khadi Santha to be held in city

BJP district president MMN Parusurama Raju has said ‘Khadi Santha’ (Khadi Fair) will be organised on October 2 and 3 as part of the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public life and commemorating Gandhi Jayanti. The Khadi Santha would be held at the Sri Karaka Chettu Polamamba Kalyana Mandapam.

Releasing the poster of the fair at a media conference on Wednesday, Mr Parasurama Raju said the fair is being organised with the objective of raising public awareness about the concepts envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi such as ‘Swachh Bharat’ and handloom.

He urged every citizen to use indigenous products, in alignment with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India). He called upon everyone to stand in support of artisans, championing the slogan “Swadeshi in every home.”

He stated that the event is being organised with the motto: “Let us embrace indigenous products – let us build a self-reliant India.”
