Former prime minister Justin Trudeau is expected to visit Oxford later this month.

Justin Trudeau’s latest move since leaving politics is taking him across the Atlantic, where the former prime minister has landed a fellowship at Oxford University.

The university announced Friday that Trudeau has joined its Blavatnik School of Government as a distinguished fellow and member of the World Leaders Circle.

The World Leaders Circle is an “international network of former heads of government, whose experience and insight shape the Blavatnik School’s work to improve governance around the world,” the university said in a release.

Trudeau, who served as Canada’s prime minister for a decade before resigning in January 2025, joins a roster of former world leaders that includes Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand and the United Kingdom’s Rishi Sunak.

“In the decade that I was prime minister, the world went through profound change both geopolitically and technologically, which fundamentally reshaped our world,” Trudeau said in a statement released by Oxford.

He said he looks forward to sharing his experiences, as well as engaging with the next generation of government and policy leaders.

The Blavatnik School’s dean said Trudeau is expected to visit Oxford later this month.

The university said fellows will mentor students and alumni, while exploring new approaches to government.

The appointment is the latest venture for Trudeau. In September, he announced the launch of a production company, Hope & Hard Work, with his former chief of staff Katie Telford at the Toronto International Film Festival. The pair unveiled plans for film and television projects focused on Canadian stories.

Since leaving Parliament Hill, the 54-year-old has also offered glimpses into his personal life on social media, including travels with his girlfriend, pop star Katy Perry, and support for his son Xavier’s budding music career.
