Jayden Reed injury update after Packers WR has neck injury, ruled out - USA Today

The Green Bay Packers were hoping to get off to a much better start in Week 2. It only took a few plays for that plan to fall apart.

Jayden Reed took a hit from Demario Davis on the second play of the game, a hit that seemed relatively harmless at first glance. However, he got up and fell back to the turf before the medical staff came out to check on him.

The Packers surrounded Reed on the field and the receiver was eventually carted off.

Reed has movement in all of his extremities and will remain overnight for evaluation, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said after the game.

The receiver was ruled out early in Week 2 with a neck injury.

Green Bay was quick to rule out the receiver, who was carted off the field after being placed on a backboard.

Reed's neck was placed in a brace prior to leaving the field. He landed awkwardly following the tackle from Davis before crumpling to the turf.

Reed turned over, but remained on the field motionless as trainers evaluated him.

On the following play, the Packers lost offensive lineman Zach Bako-Bewele, who also required a cart to get off the field. Bako-Bewele was also promptly ruled out with a knee injury.

Watson will clearly lead the way for Green Bay, with Golden seeing an increased workload without the veteran Reed. Depth beyond Golden is fairly thin, leaving the trio of Moore, Melton and Sturdivant to pick up the work.
