Indian woman shares why losing her iPhone in Japan for the fifth time didn't scare her
For an Indian woman living in Japan, losing her phone for the fifth time might sound like a disaster, until you realise that she keeps finding it exactly where she left it.
That was the experience of a woman from Lucknow who managed to track down her misplaced iPhone 16 Pro after leaving it behind on a late-night walk.

In the clip, she explained that while people often consider being addicted to their phones a bad habit, her problem was almost the opposite. She said she regularly forgot her phone in random places and sometimes did not realise it was missing for two or three hours.
This time, she used another phoneβs Find My feature to locate her iPhone. The app showed that the device was around 600 metres away, so Pragati began walking through the streets at around midnight towards its location.
As she got closer, she realised the phone appeared to be near a familiar spot. She explained that she and her family usually walked along the same path after dinner and, at one point, the location showed that her phone was just 100 metres away.
Pragati then made her way towards a bench where she had been sitting earlier. When she reached it, she was surprised to find her iPhone 16 Pro sitting there completely untouched. She also recalled that the last time she had misplaced her phone, someone had handed it over to a police station.
Reflecting on the experience, she said she was unsure whether the same thing would happen in other countries, but felt that the sense of safety she experienced was something particularly notable about Japan.
In her caption, Pragati revealed that this was the fifth time she had lost her iPhone 16 Pro in Japan, and, once again, she had managed to get it back. She also asked her followers how many times they had lost their phones and whether they had been able to recover them.
The video prompted viewers to contrast the experience with phone theft and loss in India.
Some users said finding a lost phone untouched reflected the sense of safety in Japanese society, while others described Japan as a country where theft is taken seriously.
