India and Sri Lanka will be hoping the weather finally allows them to take the field when they meet in the Asian Games cricket semi-final in Nagoya on September 30. Rain has already wreaked havoc on the men's cricket competition, with all four quarter-final matches abandoned without a ball being bowled.

India's quarter-final against Afghanistan was among the matches washed out, while Pakistan's clash against Hong Kong, Sri Lanka's match against Nepal and Bangladesh's game against Malaysia also failed to get underway because of persistent rain.

After days of unsettled weather in Nagoya, the focus will once again be on the skies ahead of the India-Sri Lanka semi-final. India advanced to the last four without taking the field, while Sri Lanka also progressed after their quarter-final was abandoned.

As per Accuweather, for now, there are no chances of rain in the forecast for September 30, although intermittent clouds are expected. Temperatures are likely to remain cool at around 20 degrees Celsius. However, Nagoya has experienced persistent rainfall over recent days, meaning the condition of the outfield could still be a concern even if the rain stays away.

India are ranked higher than Sri Lanka in the ICC T20I rankings and would therefore advance to the final if their semi-final is washed out. India had already benefited from the same rule in their quarter-final against Afghanistan, while Sri Lanka progressed against Nepal after their match was abandoned.

The other semi-final will see Pakistan take on Bangladesh. Pakistan reached the last four after their quarter-final against Hong Kong was washed out, while Bangladesh progressed after their match against Malaysia was also abandoned.
