IGDTUW and CyberPeace launch CyberPeace Keepers and First Responders initiative

The Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) and CyberPeace, with support from Google.org, on Monday announced the CyberPeace Keepers and Cyber First Responders initiative on the occasion of the International Day of Peace.
The programme was inaugurated by IGDTUW Vice Chancellor Ranjana Jha. Keynote addresses were delivered by AICTE Chief Coordinating Officer Buddha Chandrasekhar; Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy, Google, Rajesh Ranjan; Shilohu Rao, Professor of Law in the National Law University, Jodhpur; and Ankur Mishra, Senior Product Leader from Ontario, Canada.
The technical workshops focused on emerging cyber threats, digital safety, and community cyber resilience. The programme concluded with a closing address by Major Vineet Kumar, founder and global president of CyberPeace.
The initiative will train students to research and respond to scams, deepfakes, AI-enabled deception, misinformation, impersonation and online abuse, said the organisation.
Participants also visited the 24Γ7 IGDTUW-CyberPeace Centre of Excellence, which will provide a platform to research on, and contribute to, real-world cyber safety and resilience initiatives. CyberPeace said it planned to expand the network of keepers and cyber first-responders across universities and communities.
