The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has termed the African National Congress (ANC)’s legal challenge against its candidate submission procedure as “stillborn”.
As the party on Tuesday appeared to abandon its claims of system glitches for the mishap, the commission told the Electoral Court that the ANC simply ran out of time to submit its candidates' list for six municipalities in accordance with the regulations.
