Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will stage a three-day air show in Mysuru from October 18 to 20 as part of Dasara festivities.
Confirming the participation of IAF’s elite aerobatic demonstration squadron Surya Kiran, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in a letter to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, said the participation of Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will add to the grandeur of the celebrations and provide an opportunity to the people of Karnataka to witness “professionalism, skill, and precision” of the armed forces.
“I am confident that the display will be warmly received by the people of Mysuru and the visitors attending the Dasara festivities”, Mr. Singh said.
Mr. Singh, however, said it would not be possible to deploy the Sarang Display Team for the festival due to prior commitments.
“.....Owing to already approved commitments of the Sarang Display Team during the relevant period, it would not be feasible to deploy the team for the Mysuru Dasara festival this year”, the letter said.
Mr. Rajnath was responding to a letter written by Mr. D.K. Shivakumar to organize the Surya Kiran and Sarang Aerobatic Display teams for Mysuru Dasara 2026.
