Eight landmarks in Hyderabad turned pink on Wednesday evening as the Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation (UBF) launched its 18th annual ‘Paint the City Pink’ campaign to mark the beginning of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The campaign, launched in 2009, has been held for 18 consecutive years, even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Hyderabad is the only city in the world where several iconic monuments and prominent buildings have been illuminated in pink on the same night for 18 consecutive years,” said UBF founding director P. Raghu Ram.
