Howie Mandel narrowly escapes exploding car in video shared by his daughter - USA Today
Howie Mandel's daughter is sharing a fiery scene on TikTok, complete with a warning her dad should have taken seriously.
Jackelyn Shultz posted a TikTok video of the "America's Got Talent" judge standing near a vehicle engulfed in flames, capturing a moment that quickly drew reactions across social media.
Mandel, 70, wore blue overalls and held a canned beverage while appearing to record the fire on his phone near a Food4Less store.
"Dad, it could explode if there's gas in it," Shultz, 41, warned her dad.
Seconds later, as Mandel turned toward his daughter, a burst of flames erupted behind him.
Shultz gave the frightening footage a blunt caption: "Me: Psychic My dad: An idiot," tagging her father's account.
Since being posted less than a day ago, the video has already garnered 1.2 million views and a lot strong reactions from viewers. Most people in the comment section were more concerned for the man walking toward the car behind Mandel, who seemed a little too close to the explosion.
Concerned user @seerskadi asked, "is the guy behind him ok?!"
Another user @aspree78 wrote, "I was not prepared to see Howie Mandel turn around."
"My man is terrified of germs but is fine being that close to a car that's about to explode," wrote another user, referring to Mandel's obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Beyond his television and podcast work, Mandel has spoken publicly about living with OCD. In a USA TODAY opinion column written by Mandel, he described the condition's impact on his life and challenged the idea that OCD simply means being neat or organized.
"If OCD were really just about having an organized pantry, then it wouldn't trap me for hours every day. It wouldn't feel like torture. And it probably wouldn't have pushed my wife to give me an ultimatum," Mandel wrote.
Mandel has long been open about his fear of germs, describing his germaphobia as one part of his disorder.
"Most people know me as the germaphobe," Mandel shared. "I can't really argue with that. If you've ever seen me encounter a doorknob, you probably understand why."
Mandel and Shultz also share a microphone on their podcast, "Howie Mandel Does Stuff." Their podcast features a wide array of topics, including his admission that he pay's for sexual massage parlour services while still being married to Schultz mother, Terry Soil Mandell.
Shultz is one of three children Mandel shares with his wife, Terry Mandel. The couple also have a son, Alex, 36, and another daughter, Riley, 34.
