The federal government reintroduced austerity measures on Thursday in an effort to conserve fuel amid renewed tensions in the Middle East.
In a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat, market closure timings, excluding pharmacies, were revised to 9pm, with a 50 per cent reduction in fuel provision for official vehicles, and a complete ban on vehicle purchases, foreign visits and travel unless obligatory.
