Golden Eaglets target U17 AFCON ticket as Eboboritse names 25 players - Premium Times Nigeria
Head Coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere has selected a team of 25 Golden Eaglets that he believes will make Nigeria proud at the WAFU-B U17 Championship starting in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, on Saturday.
Five-time world champions Nigeria have been drawn in group B of the championship, a qualifying tournament for next year’s U17 Africa Cup of Nations, to be hosted by Morocco.
The Eaglets will face Niger Republic and Côte d’Ivoire in the group stage, while hosts Burkina Faso will battle Ghana, Togo and Benin Republic in group A.
In Eboboritse’s list are three goalkeepers, seven defenders, eight midfielders and seven forwards.
The Eaglets will depart Nigeria on Tuesday morning. They will have eight more days to work on their tactical and technical conditioning before their first match of the championship on 14 October.
