The New York Giants will travel to Philadelphia this Sunday for a Week 9 matchup against the Eagles.

With that, it provides us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal some talent from the Eagles' roster in hopes of addressing some pressing needs for Big Blue.

It's been an encouraging season for the Giants thus far, but there are still areas of the roster that could use some attention. One of those positions is linebacker, where adding another young defender alongside Arvell Reese could give the defense a much-needed boost.

That makes Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. an intriguing option. Of course, adding the likes of Jalen Carter or Quinyon Mitchell would be ideal, but we're trying to look a little deeper here.

Trotter, a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft, has started to carve out a bigger role in Philadelphia. Through eight games in 2026, the Clemson product has recorded 40 combined tackles, 27 solo tackles, one pass defensed, and half a sack. He's also made two starts this season.

The Giants could use that kind of production at linebacker. Reese has already established himself as a promising building block, totaling 56 tackles, 1.5 sacks, four passes defensed and an interception through seven games. Adding Trotter could give New York another young defender capable of developing alongside the rookie, especially with Tremaine Edmunds on season-ending injured reserve (IR).

Trotter's ability to contribute against the run, combined with Reese's versatility as a blitzer and coverage defender, could give the Giants additional flexibility in the middle of their defense.

Of course, Trotter remains a developing linebacker, and Philadelphia has little reason to part with a young defender who is earning more opportunities. His limited starting experience also means there's still plenty of development ahead.

Still, the Giants could benefit from adding another promising piece to their defense.

What say you, Giants fans? Would you steal Jeremiah Trotter Jr. from the Eagles, or is there another Philadelphia player you'd rather see in blue?
