Forces open fire after suspicious movement spotted in Udhampur's Majalta

Security forces opened fire after noticing suspicious movement in the Majalta area of Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, officials said on Tuesday, prompting an intensification of anti-terror operations in the region.

The area was already under heightened alert, with security agencies conducting extensive search and surveillance operations following intelligence inputs about the movement of terrorists in the Brettal-Khubban belt and adjoining forest areas over the past several days.

Following the latest sighting, forces launched a fresh search operation and stepped up area domination exercises across the dense forests of Majalta. Officials said searches are continuing, but no trace of the suspected terrorists has been found so far.
