Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the PL presidential candidate, said the congressional majority won by the right will make it possible to change the Constitution "so that we can redemocratize this country, so that the institutions go back to respecting the Constitution."

The presidential candidate said he would "crack down hard on criminals" as he promised 500,000 prison places and harsher sentences for "criminal bosses."

President Lula’s (PT) rival in the election runoff also once again defended lowering the age of criminal responsibility and the chemical castration of pedophiles and rapists.

The son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is in prison, made the remarks as he received the endorsement of defeated candidate Ronaldo Caiado (PSD).
