Fatal crash takes suspicious turn

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding car in the limits of RA Bazaar Police Station, but the emergence of CCTV footage has raised questions about whether the incident was a genuine road accident. Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver under the relevant section for causing death and launched an investigation from various angles. According to police, the incident occurred two days ago on Harley Street during the afternoon when a speeding car hit pedestrian Kifayat Hussain from behind. The unidentified driver fled the scene along with the vehicle. Kifayat, who sustained critical injuries, was shifted to a hospital but died later. According to the FIR, Kifayat was walking towards Bakra Mandi when the car struck him. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing the car moving towards Kifayat, who was walking along the extreme left side of the road, before hitting him from behind. The manner in which the car approached the pedestrian has raised suspicion about the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver under the relevant section for causing death. Investigators are using the CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its driver.
