Falcons Vega finishes 3rd, misses VCT Game Changers Championship - Inquirer Technology

MANILA, Philippines – Falcons Vega fell to Gen.G, 2-3, in the lower bracket final of the VCT 2026: Game Changers Pacific Playoffs, September 19.

Composed of three homegrown Filipina talents, Alexandria “Alexy” Francisco, Camille “Kamiyu” Enriquez, and Kelly “shirazi” Jaudian, Falcons Vega’s loss marks the first time since the league’s introduction in 2022 that no Filipina representative will be in Championship.

This also marks the first year since 2023 that shirazi will not compete in Championship.

Falcons Vega first fell in the lower bracket after being swept by FENNEL Female in the upper bracket final. 

The All-Japanese squad eventually became the first to enter the Grand Finals.

Against Gen.G, Falcons Vega could not find the same consistency they showed when they dominated VCT Game Changers SEA.

Gen.G took the first win on Lotus, before the reigning SEA champions bounced back on Split and Sunset.

However, despite holding match point, Gen.G made a quick comeback to take Haven and Ascent. 

The South Korean squad was led by Jo “DaNa” Se-won with a 242 ACS, 95 kills, and a 78.2% KAST.

Before Falcon Vega’s loss, other teams with homegrown Filipinas in their squad fell to each other.

Rising Esports GC was the first to be eliminated. Jefferlynne “Japips” Hernandez, Anrionel “twirly” Cajanding lost to wiwiwi in the first round of the lower bracket.

Then, Team wiwiwi with Tiara “Alluka” Pleno fell next against FULL SENSE SISU.

FULL SENSE SISU with players Mary “capriciouS” Sabado and “mei” lost to Gen.G in the lower bracket semis.

The Grand Finals between FENNEL Female and Gen.G will take place on September 20 at 3 p.m., while Championship begins on October 22.
