While the production is fully stopped in the factory, only the units of research and progress will continue working. In the declaration made by Ericsson authorities, it was stated that the production of cellular phones in the Netherlands was expensive and that this production unit would be slid to Asian countries where it is cheaper. With the closure of the factory in Emmen, Ericsson now has no units left producing in the Netherlands. Again with the closure of the factory, 160 people will be left unemployed. Ericsson had a sale worth 750 million dollars last year in the Netherlands.
