Police have arrested six people following an aggravated burglary in Brighton East this morning.
Authorities located and intercepted an allegedly stolen 4WD on the Monash Freeway near Chadstone, arresting the occupants.
All lanes of the freeway reopened just after 1pm.
Police have arrested six people in a dramatic operation on the Monash Freeway in Melbourne's south-east.
More than a dozen police officers, some dressed in tactical gear, were seen detaining several males on the freeway near Chadstone at lunchtime.
Traffic was brought to a standstill as the outbound lanes were closed, but all lanes had reopened by about 1:15pm.

Police say the arrests followed the theft of two cars in an aggravated burglary in Brighton East just after 5:30am this morning.
One of the vehicles, a Nissan 4WD, was later seen being driven erratically on the Eastlink toll road before it was intercepted by police in Chadstone just after midday.
Unmarked police vehicles appeared to pin the grey 4WD, which sustained damage to its front.

Police said the six occupants were being interviewed after their arrest.
No-one was injured during the incident.
The second stolen vehicle, an Audi, was also recovered in Endeavour Hills following a collision earlier today.

Vision from the scene showed traffic significantly backed up the freeway before the lanes were reopened.
Police investigators were also seen removing items from the 4WD and putting them in evidence bags.
