Delhi men lured by fake dates, hit with inflated club bills in UP club; 4 arrested

The Ghaziabad Crime Branch has busted a gang accused of cheating men from Delhi by using fake profiles of women on dating apps and luring them to a club where they were served inflated bills and threatened when they refused to pay.FAKE DATING PROFILES USED TO LURE MEN

The gang created fake profiles in the names of women on dating apps including Tinder, Happn and Twogether. After chatting with men, the accused would call them to the 'Lord of Wings' club at RDC in Ghaziabad for a meeting.

Once the men reached the club, different women would meet them and place orders for champagne, liquor, food, snacks and hookah in large quantities.

The gang would then prepare bills several times higher than the actual cost of the orders and demand money from the victims.

According to the information provided, men who refused to pay were intimidated. The gang would allegedly make videos of them and threaten to use the recordings to blackmail them into paying large sums of money.

The money collected from the victims was then divided equally among the accused, according to the details of the case.

The club had allegedly been operating for around one month, and the gang is accused of cheating lakhs of rupees from several people using the same method.

The Crime Branch arrested four accused in connection with the alleged dating app scam. They have been identified as Rahul Gupta, Manikant, Mohit and Vishal Rajput.

Police also recovered four mobile phones and a Suzuki Fronx car bearing registration number UP14GR0356.

Manikant, one of the arrested accused, already has two cases related to similar cheating registered against him in 2024 and 2025.- Ends
