Day 8 schedule: India chase kabaddi gold double, athletics medals

India face a busy Day 8 at the Asian Games, with several medal chances lined up from the early hours. Sawan Barwal and Kartik Karkera will be in the men’s marathon final at 4:00 AM IST, while the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions team will be in action at 6:15 AM. More medal opportunities will follow in canoe sprint, with Raju Rawat and L Neha Devi competing in the mixed canoe double 500m Final A.

Kabaddi will be one of the main attractions, with both Indian teams playing their gold-medal matches against Iran. The women will take the court at 9:30 AM, followed by the men at 2:30 PM. Squash will also see Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar in the mixed doubles' semifinal, while Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh will feature in the singles semifinals.

The athletics programme will take centre stage in the evening. Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Karanveer Singh will contest the men’s shot put final, followed by Praveen Chithravel and Karthik Unnikrishnan in the men’s triple jump final. Parul Chaudhary and Pooja will then line up for the women’s 1500m final. India will also be represented in badminton, boxing, fencing, archery, hockey, table tennis, surfing, sailing and esports throughout the day.
