David Pollack asks for prayers as his wife faces a third surgery - UGA Wire

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive end and college football analyst David Pollack shared an unfortunate news update on his wife via social media.

"We didn't get the best news today at a doctors visit," Pollack said. Pollack's wife, Lindsey, has previously been diagnosed with brain cancer and has already undergone multiple surgeries. Pollack shares that she needs a third surgery.

"She looked at me and said God has been building me for this, and thank goodness its on a bye week so Nicholas doesn't have a game," Pollack continued.

His son, Nicholas, is committed to playing college football at an ACC powerhouse and plays high school football for North Oconee, which is located close to Athens, Georgia. It appears that his wife's surgery will be sometime around Friday, Sept. 25, which is when North Oconee has its bye week. North Oconee is 4-1 to start the 2026 high school season.

"She is weak right now, but our God isn't," Pollack adds. "If you are the praying type we will take 'em all."

In March, Pollack shared that his wife was "cancer-free" after battling for over a year.

Pollack himself underwent a major surgery to repair a broken neck injury he suffered in 2006. Pollack's severe injury derailed his promising NFL career and forced him to retire from football. David and Lindsey Pollack have the support of many folks during this tough time.

"Praying fervently," Pollack's former ESPN "College GameDay" co-worker Rece Davis said via social media. "So many others are too my brother."

Pollack continues to cover college football with On3 after his departure from GameDay. Pollack and his wife both founded The Pollack Foundation, which seeks to improve the lives of families in the Atlanta and Athens areas in Georgia.
