College football rankings after Week 4: Updated US LBM Coaches Poll, AP Top 25 - USA Today
Week 4 of the college football season delivered no shortage of drama, with several games across the country coming down to the final seconds and producing memorable finishes.
Those results also sparked movement in the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25.
Coming off a statement win against Lane Kiffin and LSU, Mississippi fell on the road to Florida as Pete Golding's defense had no answers for Jaden Baugh, who finished with 142 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. Trinidad Chambliss and the Rebels will look to get Kewan Lacy back from injury after their Week 5 bye.
Arch Manning and Texas survived a late scare from Tennessee, as the Longhorns' defense came up with a game-saving stop on Faizon Brandon's Hail Mary attempt in the closing seconds. Jeremiah Smith stole the show in the noon ET window on Saturday with four touchdowns and 217 receiving yards in Ohio State's 42-19 rout of Illinois.
In the Big Ten, Dylan Raiola stepped in for an injured Dante Moore and helped Oregon to a 41-27 win over Southern California at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Nebraska transfer completed 19-of-25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. Kamario Taylor also kept Mississippi State's hot start to the season alive by leading the Bulldogs on a pair of touchdown drives in the fourth quarter for a ranked win at home against Missouri.
Elsewhere, Wisconsin earned its second-ranked win under Luke Fickell, as Colton Joseph connected with Jacob Harris for a 72-yard late fourth-quarter touchdown to beat Penn State, Wake Forest also upset Louisville at home, thanks to a blocked field goal in the game's waning moments.
