Cilluffo Warns Cyber Attackers Still Hold the Advantage in AI Era

Frank Cilluffo, Director of the McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security at Auburn University, says the US will “never firewall” its way out of the cyber threat and needs to take more proactive steps against adversaries. Cilluffo says AI can strengthen defenders but warns that, for the foreseeable future, the initiative remains with attackers. Cilluffo also argues the US must keep human control over increasingly powerful AI systems while continuing to compete with China.
