Chiefs wary of Siwelele as Carling Knockout resumes - EWN

Kaizer Chiefs will face Siwelele in the Carling Black Label Knockout this Sunday at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00.

Chiefs coach Fernando Cruz says playing the fixture away from Johannesburg is not something that will distract his side, despite effectively losing their home advantage.

“We are going to play the game, between quotation marks, away from home, but that must not be a parameter that perturbs us. We have to be focused on the opponent and on how to win this match.”

Cruz also provided an update on new signing Elias Mokwana, who joined Chiefs without having had a full pre-season after a difficult start to the campaign.

The coach believes the former Bafana Bafana international can add experience and quality to the Chiefs attack but says he will need time to get up to speed.

“Elias Mokwana is a very good player. He is someone who has been an international, so he will bring us his experience and his quality. We know that he had a difficult beginning to the season. We have the FIFA break coming, which will allow us to start preparing him, and I think after the FIFA break we can begin integrating him progressively.”
