Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams suffers non-contact injury vs. Vikings - Bears Wire
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams suffered a non-contact leg injury during the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Williams was in extreme pain on a first-down run in the red zone, when he went down and grabbed his right leg. He couldn't put any weight on it. Williams was carted to the locker room, where he gave the cheering home crowd a thumbs up.
UPDATE: The Bears officially announced Williams suffered a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for the game.
Following the game, head coach Ben Johnson told ESPN 1000 that it's indeed a hamstring injury and "weβll know a lot more tomorrow."
Johnson also said Williams "is in good spirits." Johnson initially thought it was a knee, so he was relieved that Williams avoided that, although he acknowledged a hamstring can be significant.
