Central University of Kerala signs pact with CSIR-National Physical Laboratory for research collaboration

The Central University of Kerala (CUK) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi, to facilitate collaborative research and development, staff and student exchange programmes, and sharing of research facilities and expertise.

The MoU was signed by Prof. V.B. Sameer Kumar, Registrar, CUK, and Dr. Rajiv Singh, Scientist F and Deputy Head, Human Resource Development, CSIR-NPL, in the presence of CUK Vice-Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur at CSIR-NPL, New Delhi.

The MoU will facilitate joint research projects in cutting-edge areas of science and technology, while enabling the two institutions to utilise their respective research expertise, infrastructure, and facilities. The collaboration is expected to strengthen academic and research linkages and contribute to programmes of national importance.

The CUK team visited key facilities at CSIR-NPL, including the Indian Standard Time (IST) Division, which maintains the national time standard, and the Dilution Refrigerator Laboratory. The CUK delegation also held an interaction with the heads of various divisions of CSIR-NPL. The meeting, chaired by the Director of CSIR-NPL Prof. Venugopal Achanta, discussed potential areas for joint research and future academic collaboration.

Prof. Thomas K.J., Prof. Prasad E. Nair, Dr. Poonam Arora, Dr. Basheed G.A., Dr. Naveen Garg, Dr. S.P. Singh, Dr. R.P. Aloysius, Dr. Sanjay Dhakate, Dr. Sushil Kumar and Dr. Sachchidanand Singh, attended the programme. Prof. Algur appreciated the contributions of CSIR-NPL to the country’s scientific and technological development and expressed hope that the MoU would lead to sustained research collaboration between the two institutions.
