BMW 100 Jahre Nürburgring Editions open for pre-orders in India
BMW India and BMW Motorrad India have opened pre-orders for the exclusive ‘100 Jahre Nrburgring’ editions, marking the upcoming centenary of the iconic German racetrack in 2027. The collection comprises five BMW M cars and one motorcycle, including the first-ever M5 Touring for the Indian market.
The India-bound line-up includes the BMW M2 Coupe, M3 Competition xDrive, M4 Competition xDrive, M5 Sedan, M5 Touring and BMW Motorrad M 1000 R. BMW M4 100 Jahre Nrburgring edition The anniversary editions feature exclusive Nrburgring-inspired design elements, with Nrburgring Green forming the primary visual theme. The cars are also available with Sapphire Black metallic paint and green accents. Each model gets the ‘100 Years’ logo, ‘Nrburgring since 1927’ wording and graphics depicting the famous circuit.
The cabins feature black interiors with contrasting green and white stitching, along with edition-specific door sills. The inline-six-cylinder models get an M Alcantara steering wheel with a 12 o’clock marker, while M Carbon bucket seats and carbon-fibre trim are also part of the special-edition treatment. The M5 models get an M steering wheel featuring the same anniversary design theme.
The BMW M5 Touring is the most significant addition to the India line-up, marking the first time the performance estate will be sold in the country. The Touring combines the M5's high-performance credentials with a more practical estate body style and is aimed at combining everyday usability with long-distance touring ability.
The M5 Touring uses BMW's M HYBRID powertrain, comprising a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric motor. In standard form, the system produces 727bhp and 1,000Nm of torque, with power sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. BMW claims a 0-100kph time of 3.6 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250kph.
For the anniversary edition, the M5 Touring gets a steel roof with the special Nrburgring-inspired stripe design, along with the other edition-specific exterior and interior details.BMW M2, M3, M4 and M5 also part of the collection
The BMW M2 xDrive forms the compact end of the collection and features an inline-six engine, M Carbon roof, M Carbon bucket seats and Nrburgring-themed graphics.
The all-new BMW M3 Competition xDrive gets a similar anniversary treatment, including an M Carbon roof, Nrburgring graphics and green wheel accents. BMW M Ignite technology is also used to optimise high-load operation.
The M4 Competition xDrive, meanwhile, gets an M Carbon roof, BMW M stripes and special exterior accents. BMW Motorrad India is also bringing the M 1000 R as part of the anniversary collection. The motorcycle gets a painted fuel tank featuring the Nrburgring silhouette, an anniversary-themed airbox cover with an individual ‘one of 100’ marking and carbon-fibre wheels with Nrburgring Green accent stripes.
The special edition further gets an Alcantara-look seat with an embroidered ‘100’ motif, while black-finished components such as the rear swingarm and rear frame complete the design.
The Nrburgring, established in 1927, stretches 20.8km and features more than 150 corners and significant elevation changes. BMW says it has recorded 21 overall victories at the Nrburgring 24 Hours, making it the event's most successful manufacturer.
