A blast was reported at the Vasundhara police outpost in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on Friday night, around 9 pm, damaging two glass panes at the premises. Meanwhile, a social media post claiming responsibility for the blast has surfaced, naming the Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan organisation.

The post was shared by an X account named Ghazi 2, which claimed that the organisation was responsible for the explosion at the police outpost. The account also issued a threat to blow up the police outpost.

India Today has not independently verified the claim made in the social media post. Police are examining the post and investigating its authenticity and the claims made in it.

A team of the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) will also reach the spot to investigate the incident.

The blast comes amid intelligence inputs about possible attempts to target police personnel and security forces in the state. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Police busted an alleged module linked to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Shahzad Bhatti.

Uttar Pradesh's Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Amitabh Yash, had said that the accused were planning to target police personnel and security forces.

Against this backdrop, investigators are examining all possible angles in connection with the blast at the Vasundhara police outpost.- Ends
