Bengals have 3 top-five performers in ESPN's Week 1 trench metrics - Bengals Wire

The Cincinnati Bengals received some good returns in the trenches during their season-opening victory.

Three Bengals landed among the NFL’s top five at their respective positions in ESPN’s win rate metrics through Week 1. ESPN uses NFL Next Gen Stats tracking data to measure performance in pass rushing and blocking.

Dalton Risner ranked fifth among interior offensive linemen in run block win rate at 88%, winning 23 of his 26 qualifying plays. Amarius Mims was fifth among offensive tackles, posting a 92% run block win rate on 26 plays.

Cincinnati’s offensive line collectively ranked second in the NFL with an 82% run block win rate. Orlando Brown Jr. also provided a strong showing, tying for 11th among tackles with a 93% pass block win rate.

Jonathan Allen’s standout number came on the other side of the ball. The veteran defensive tackle ranked third at his position with a 38% pass rush win rate, winning five of 13 matchups.

Additionally, Allen recorded his first Bengals sack in Cincinnati’s 33-27 win over Tampa Bay, dropping Baker Mayfield for a 9-yard loss in the third quarter.
