Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam addresses the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

Lebanon's Prime Minister has called for a full withdrawal of Israeli troops as part of an end to the war between Israel and Hezbollah, saying 20 percent of Lebanese have been displaced since March.

Speaking to the UN General Assembly in New York, Mr Salam says it will be difficult for for the peacekeepers to hand over bases to the Lebanese military given that more than half of them are in Israeli controlled territory.

Mr Salam's address follows a mass walkout of UN delegates as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepared to speak.
