Asian Games: John Cabang Tolentino clinches bronze in men's 110m hurdles
John Cabang Tolentino delivered the first athletics medal for the Philippines, capturing the bronze in the men's 110m hurdles finals in the 2026 Asian Games on Sunday in Japan.
Tolentino clocked 13.48 seconds to finish third in the eight-man field behind gold medalist Chinese Chen Yuanjiang, who pulled away after the eighth barrier to finish the race in 13.15 seconds.
Japan's hometown bet Rachid Muratake settled for silver after crossing the finish line in 13.29 seconds.
The bronze finish allowed the 25-year-old Tolentino to complete his redemption tour after finishing fourth in the same event during the previous Asian Games edition in Hangzhou, China.
His 13.48-second finish also marked a new season best, eclipsing his previous mark of 13.63 seconds set at the Spanish Clubs Championship in June 2026.
