Apple Reveals Over 200,000 Apps Support iPhone Duo Instagram Chief Admits Foldable Screen Challenges

Apple's Vice President of Developer Relations stated that thousands of newly optimized apps for the iPhone Duo are added daily to the App Store, while Instagram, although bearing the Made for iPhone Duo label, still faces display issues.

On 6 Nov 2026 GMT-7, Apple revealed that the App Store now hosts over 100,000 apps created specifically for the iPhone Duo, the first foldable-screen smartphone, just two weeks after its official launch.

Susan Prescott, Apple's Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, said in a statement that it is wonderful to see developers respond so quickly to the iPhone Duo and thanked them for their creativity and innovation. Today, the number of apps designed for the iPhone Duo available on the App Store has surpassed 100,000, with thousands of newly optimized apps added daily.

However, despite thousands of new optimized apps being added daily, some still face usage issues. Instagram is one such app experiencing problems.

Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, posted on Threads acknowledging that the iPhone Duo is a device with a form factor that is quite challenging to adapt to.

Meanwhile, user feedback on Instagram's app for foldable phones reports issues with smoothness during use and subpar display quality, even though it carries the Made for iPhone Duo label.
