Appeals for calm intensify amid escalating Cape Town taxi violence - EWN

Appeals for calm are intensifying amid escalating taxi violence in parts of Cape Town.

The latest incidents of taxi-related shootings have left many commuters fearing for their safety.

Two people were injured after a shooting incident at the Delft Palm taxi rank on Wednesday morning.

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has joined the appeals after several shootings linked to route disputes between rival taxi associations, the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) and the Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association (CODETA).
