The African National Congress (ANC) was before the Electoral Court (IEC) this evening, arguing that it should be allowed to contest six municipalities for which it failed to submit candidate lists by the deadline for the November polls.

The party told the court that by uploading their details of candidates, it was sufficient to indicate to the Electoral Commission that it wanted them to participate.
