ANA plane makes emergency landing in Okinawa

An All Nippon Airways passenger plane has made an emergency landing at Naha Airport in Japan's southwestern prefecture of Okinawa, due to engine trouble shortly after takeoff. Three passengers reportedly sustained minor injuries when they evacuated the plane.

Flight 1502 was bound for Saga Airport in Kyushu. The carrier says a pilot noticed high oil temperatures in the right engine soon after taking off around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Boeing 737 returned to Naha Airport after the engine was turned off. It landed safely around 10 p.m.

All 152 passengers and six crew members used emergency slides to evacuate the plane.

Fire engines were dispatched, but no smoke or fire was reported.

The Japan Transport Safety Board has classified the case as a "serious incident" and plans to send two investigators to the site.
