Amul hikes ghee and butter prices: Check new rates
Consumers will have to spend more on Amul ghee and butter as the dairy major has increased the prices of these products. The price revision comes during the festive season, adding to household expenses.
According to the revised maximum retail prices (MRP), a 1-kg carton of Amul ghee now costs Rs 680, compared with Rs 640 earlier. The 500-gram pouch of pure ghee has also become costlier, with its price rising from Rs 325 to Rs 345.
Amul cow ghee has seen a similar increase. The price of its 500-ml pouch has gone up from Rs 350 to Rs 370, while the 1-litre pouch now costs Rs 735, against the earlier price of Rs 695.
Butter prices have also increased. The 100-gram pack, which was earlier available for Rs 63, now costs Rs 66. The price of the 500-gram pack has gone up from Rs 310 to Rs 325.
Amul said it had revised the MRPs of Amul Table Butter, Amul Ghee and Amul Cow Ghee with effect from October 2, 2026.
Explaining the reason behind the increase, the company said the decision was taken due to a rise in the cost of milk production.
Amul, which is a cooperative institution owned by 36 lakh farmers, added that stocks carrying the revised prices would soon be available in markets across the country.- Ends About the Author
