Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao lauded the massive turnout of citizens and party workers for the ‘Maha Padyatra’ held under the slogan, “Let us protect democracy and put an end to anarchy” — led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, covering nearly two kilometres from the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue in Basheerbagh to the Mozamjahi Market junction on Monday (November 2, 2026) evening.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Telangana BJP unit, Mr. Rao thanked party workers, citizens, and other participants for joining the foot march with enthusiasm. He also launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the INDIA bloc, accusing them of spreading “malicious propaganda” and “blatant lies” against the Narendra Modi-led Central government, the BJP, and even the country’s constitutional institutions.
The BJP Telangana president particularly criticised what he described as attempts by the Congress and its allies to “deceive and mislead the public” through false narratives surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which he said was being carried out in the interest of the country’s citizens.
Mr. Rao said it was to expose these “toxic conspiracies” and the alleged misinformation campaign of the Congress and the INDIA bloc that Mr. Shah personally led the march. He further called upon BJP cadres to gear up to protect democracy and put an end to what he termed the “tyrannical rule” of the Congress government, according to a press release issued late on Monday (November 2, 2026).
