Aishwarya Rai Bachchan owns the Paris runway in red hair, starry cape gown

It was a starry night in Paris when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the runway at L’Oreal Paris’ Le Defile 2026 "Express Your Worth" show as part of Paris Fashion Week on September 28, in a black sparkly gown and cape.

When it’s Aishwarya, the world waits with bated breath, only to gasp in awe of her beauty. And that’s exactly what unfolded at the event yesterday. The actor donned an all-black couture look that exuded a bit of gothic glamour and a whole lot of dazzling regality. Styled by Mohit Rai, the ensemble was created by Yara Shoemaker and was part of her Fall/Winter 2026–27 collection.

Bachchan walked the runway wearing a bejewelled tiara, because hello, queen!

At the heart of the look was a figure-skimming black velvet gown featuring a sculpted bodice. As described by the designer, the look reimagined power dressing by playing with structure and movement. Sculpted velvet and gathered tulle created a defined silhouette, while cascading three-dimensional fringes added movement with every step. The actor's deep burgundy hair colour, styled in long, loose waves fell over her shoulders and down her back. The tone brought a striking contrast to the black velvet and made the look feel more contemporary.

And it was a fitting look for Le Defile, where she joined global L’Oreal ambassadors including Kendall Jenner, Celine Dion, Eva Longoria, Simone Ashley, Viola Davis and Jane Fonda for the brand’s celebration of beauty, sisterhood and women’s empowerment.
