Actor Aayush Shah's Rs 4.44-Crore Fraud Case: FIR Ordered Against MyFledge Directors
A Mumbai court has directed the Oshiwara police to register an FIR against three directors of MyFledge Private Limited following a complaint by television actor Aayush Shah, who has alleged cheating and forgery involving Rs 4.44 crore.
The order was passed on November 2 by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Railway Mobile Court, Andheri. Shah, known for his role in the television series Mahabharat, has accused the company's directors of cheating him through allegedly fraudulent financial representations and forged documents.
The complaint names Bishwajit Badal Ghosh, Piyalee Shyamlendu Chatterjee and Bijoya Subratkumar Das as the accused. The court's direction is expected to pave the way for a police investigation into the allegations.FORGED DOCUMENTS, FALSE PROMISES ALLEGEDLY USED TO SECURE INVESTMENT
According to Shah's complaint, the alleged fraud involved the use of fabricated bank account statements, property documents, details of office premises and awards to create a misleading impression of the company's credibility.
The complaint further alleges that bogus contacts and assurances of future investments were used to persuade Shah to part with money, resulting in an alleged financial loss of Rs 4.44 crore.
Apart from the present proceedings, Shah has reportedly filed six criminal cases relating to cheque dishonour against the MyFledge directors before the Girgaon Court in Mumbai.
Reacting to the court's order, Shah said the experience had been deeply distressing, both personally and financially.
"This has been a deeply distressing experience for me, both personally and financially. I trusted the representations made to me and invested a substantial amount of money. I am grateful that the court has taken cognisance of the matter and directed the registration of an FIR. I hope the investigation will establish the facts and that justice will be served," he said.
Shah has appeared in television shows including Mahabharat, Navya and Uttaran, among others.
His lawyer, Advocate Govind Ghogare, said the court's order would help ensure that the allegations were investigated in accordance with the law.
"The court's order is an important step towards ensuring that the allegations are investigated in accordance with the law. Our client has approached the appropriate legal forums with supporting material concerning the alleged financial transactions, forged documents and other representations. We will continue to pursue the matter through due process and seek accountability in accordance with the law," Ghogare said.
The police investigation is expected to examine the financial transactions, documents and representations cited in the complaint to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged cheating and forgery.- Ends
