8-foot crocodile wanders into village in UP, rescued after intense 3.5-hour operation
An 8-foot-long crocodile wandered into an inhabited area in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor, triggering panic among villagers and leading to a 3.5 hour rescue operation.
The reptile was spotted moving near the residential area, prompting a large crowd to gather at the spot. Police were informed and alerted the forest department, following which a team reached the village and began efforts to capture the crocodile.
Forest officials urged villagers to keep their distance as they worked to secure the animal. The rescue proved challenging, with the team spending around three and a half hours trying to bring the crocodile under control.
The crocodile was eventually captured safely. It was then taken away from the inhabited area and released into the Ganges River.
The successful rescue brought relief to the villagers, who had gathered at the scene as the operation was underway. - Ends
