70th Anniversary of Maralinga Operation Buffalo nuclear tests - ABC News & Headlines – Australian Broadcasting Corporation

Operation Buffalo atomic trials at the Maralinga Test Range in South Australia were part of a series of atomic tests projects, seen as a routine part of Australia supporting Britain in becoming a nuclear armed power. 

It left huge areas of Australia contaminated by deadly radioactive material, much of which still presents a threat today.  

Michael Adams, creator and host of the Forgotten Australia podcast joined Philip Clark to discuss the 70th anniversary of Operation Buffalo's first atomic blast at Maralinga.
