Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said ₹59.67 crore has been sanctioned for the modernisation of nine government schools in Madhira Assembly constituency and transform them into model schools with requisite infrastructure and facilities.
Chairing a review meeting with officials at Jamalapuram village in Yerrupalem mandal of Khammam district on Sunday. Mr. Vikramarka directed them to expedite the school infrastructure works and make the facilities available to students at the earliest.
He also directed officials to provide skill development training in various self-employment activities to around 10,000 women under the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) in Madhira town. Such demand-driven skilling initiatives would help women become financially self-reliant, he said.
He asked officials to address drinking water supply and other civic issues promptly to avoid inconvenience to people. Earlier, Mr. Vikramarka laid foundation stones for development works worth ₹12.89 crore in Yerrupalem mandal, including new BT and internal CC roads in various villages.
