Home Minister Priyank Kharge inaugurated a ₹41.50-crore residential complex with 128 housing units for police constables near Anand Rao Circle on Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Kharge said providing police personnel with decent housing and a conducive environment for their families was the government’s responsibility, considering the risks they undertake while serving to protect society.
Built under the Police Gruha 2025 scheme, the complex comprises two residential blocks, each with 64 units. Each block has a stilt floor, ground floor and seven upper floors, with a total built-up area of 11,944.30 sq. m.
Each 620.31-sq.-ft. unit has a living room, dining area, two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom-cum-toilet and utility area. The complex also has lifts, parking facilities, a water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, rainwater harvesting and solar water-heating systems. Internal roads, storm-water drains, landscaping, water supply and sewage networks have also been developed.
Gandhinagar MLA and former Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, Lok Sabha MP P.C. Mohan, Director General and Inspector General of Police M.A. Saleem and Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh were among those present.
